Thursday Rant!

I know that my job entails loving kids. I do, but I need a kid break.
BIG TIME!
Thank goodness Spring Break is about a week away.
This all started last week when instead of having a Saturday with my family, I was at a competitions with hundreds of kids running like wild banshees all over the place and worse than the kids were the parents. Then we went to a really loud restaurant that was overloaded with kids. Next, on Sunday we spent the greater part of the afternoon in a kids gym at a free play. There were about 30 kids and their parents there. Then, bam, a new week starts. The kids at school are also ready for a break so they aren’t on their best behavior these days.
Tonight it was a wonderful night. The weather was fabulous. Patio weather. So, we went to a place where the garage doors in the back are thrown open, viola, patio complete with a giant playground all within our sight. Along with the rest of the neighborhood. Kids running and screaming every where. Recently, I have almost had a panic attack in moments like this.
You know what happens when you are on kid overload? You can’t deal with your child. I don’t want to hear her talk (constantly), I don’t want to hear her sing, I don’t want to hear her whine and that is what really makes me mad. Kids sucking my energy for my own kid.
I am ranting about a lot of things. Kids. Loud restaurants. Uncontrollable children and parents. Mr. Mack for not thinking about these things before suggesting a restaurant.
Now I am sitting in my quiet bedroom, drinking wine, watching a show I love and dying for candy and a coke.
Bring on Spring Break!

I’m home all day every day with my kiddos and could use a few minutes of quiet too! My husband is also in education but works with kids much older than ours but I’m sure there will come a day when he is dealing with mouthy kids at school AND at home. Counting down the days until Spring Break with you!
